PICTT Signs MOU with NIRSAL to Advance Special Agricultural Production Hub
PICTT has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL), represented by its Managing Director, Mr. Sa’ad Hamidu, on 10 July 2025.
“In our effort to reposition Nigeria’s agricultural sector through innovation, infrastructure and partnership, I was honoured to sign this Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of PICTT. This partnership is focused on the implementation of large-scale irrigated agricultural projects under the Special Agricultural Production Hub, aimed at ensuring year-round farming and supporting the expanding agro-processing capacity across the country.”
Through the collaboration, PICTT and NIRSAL are aligning farmer extension services, access to credit and appropriate technology to help unlock Nigeria’s agricultural potential, in direct support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate to drive food security, industrial growth and national self-sufficiency.
As Nigeria deepens its bilateral relations with strategic partners such as Brazil, PICTT remains committed to ensuring that technology transfer serves as the bridge between aspiration and action, building resilient ecosystems that reduce import dependence and elevate the livelihoods of Nigerians.
